Academic Overview

All major corporations have expressed the need for skilled employees. Statistics show most schools are not preparing scholars with the necessary skills for future success. Those skills are called the 21st Century skills and they include critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication. Nothing sharpens and develops those skills more than a STEM curriculum.

A Guide to STEM

At Sacred Heart, STEM is the backbone of our curriculum. Its principles and procedures are integrated throughout all subject areas, rather than serving as a “stand-alone” subject. STEM equals higher scholar achievement and academic growth evidenced by the success our scholars have on Archdiocesan standardized testing and benchmarking as well as the High School Placement Test (HSPT).
  • Some STEM skills your scholar will be developing include:
  • Coding & HTML
  • Engineering-based critical thinking across all subject areas
  • Class-based STEM focus projects
